5. Correspondence and Communication - Brittany Fremion, Chairperson

· In June EPA awarded the CAG a Technical Advisor via the Technical Assistance Services for Communities (TASC) Program and we expect to have a contract with our consulting team at SKEO by the end of the month.

· EPA prepared a press release for the ESD public comment, availability sessions, and meeting, published in the Morning Sun and Gratiot County Herald in mid-July.

· The CAG Executive Committee met on July 22nd to discuss the ESD and voted to have Dr. Murray Borrello and Research Associate Olivia Ayers help the CAG prepare official comments.

· Brittany Fremion wrote a guest column about the ESD, published in the Morning Sun and Gratiot County Herald on July 24, 2024.

· On July 25, 2024, the CAG sent an official letter to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Public Documents Division, requesting records tied to radioactive waste at the FPS.

· Gary and Brittany prepared and submitted the FPS TAG quarterly report to EPA in late July. Gary prepared and submitted a three-year extension request for the FPS TAG, too, as it is set to expire next month.

· CAG members met with Colin Gray, a filmmaker working on a documentary series about the PBB disaster that will feature the CAG, on July 31, 2024. Update on project – Colin Gray, TBD

· CAG members participated in EPA’s ESD meeting on July 31, 2024.

· CAG officers met with Murray Borrello and Olivia Ayers on August 8th to discuss their comments on the ESD; the executive committee met August 12th to finalize comments, which were submitted XX. (appended)
